(LOS ANGELES: September 8th, 2010) – D.R. Whitney, Arthurian scholar and author of “The Last Princess and the Cup of Immortality” has announced that the Goddess Prophecies theatrical team will be performing at The Orange County Children’s Book Festival on Sunday October 3rd in Costa Mesa, CA.
With the building fanfare, fantasy’s new heroine, Vivienne Le Faye has been taking the world of fantasy and social networking by storm. At the LA Times Festival of the Books in April, Isle of Avilon Press sold out their entire stock of books in a day. The show proved that both children and adults are loving this new series which has been described as the next “Twilight”, “Harry Potter” and “Lord of the Rings” phenomenon. Also in the social networking world, The Goddess Prophecies Characters who tweet, blog and have their own Face Book an Myspace pages have had well over seven million hits! No wonder, Whitney believes that the show in Orange County will be no exception.

Taking place from the Fourth Century A.D. to the End of Days, “The Goddess Prophecies; The last Princess and The Cup of Immortality” follows the story of Vivienne Le Faye, a sixteen-year-old, with intuitive powers who inherits a priceless family treasure and then becomes an instant target. As an ancient family curse haunts her and danger threatens her, a mysterious boy with blazing golden eyes appears out-of-nowhere to protect her. As her strong attraction to him grows, she finds herself on a thrill ride to a royal destiny in a world of wizardry and magic, where she discovers he is more than human.
Each year the Orange County Children’s Book Festival features popular authors, illustrators, storytellers, entertainers; and exhibitors that support reading and education along with fun activities for families. The festival features a variety of entertainment for the entire family.
In addition to their author, illustrator and storyteller stages throughout the grounds, the Festival’s Main Entertainment Stage will feature “The Goddess Prophecies,” a spectacular thirty minute show that is sure to entertain attendees.
With the popularity growing for the new fantasy series, Hollywood have also picked up on the hype and have shown interest in turning the series into a 3D film. “I continually encounter statistics about fantasy-based films which reinforce my belief that ‘The Goddess Prophecies’ can be made into a fantastic film viewer experience as well as a worldwide box office success,” states Bernard Stolar, former president of Mattel Toys and Sega.
In anticipation of widespread demand, from page to screen, Whitney has already begun work on the second installment of her fantasy franchise with “The Sword of Power,” to be followed by “The Stone of Destiny,” “The Platter of Plenty,” and a subsequent volume, “The Orb of Majesty.”
The Goddess Prophecies team will be performing on the OC Book Festival Y/A stage at 10.30am and the Main Stage from 1-2pm.

What is a sixteen year old girl to do with all that responsibility? The only thing she knows for sure is that the golden eyed boy is there for her and she must find him.
D.R. Whitney has crafted a wonderful fantasy world where any adult or teenager can lose themselves in magic and wonder. It is a wide-ranging story filled with mystery, eternal love, and the fulfillment of a destiny that has waited thousands of years to reach culmination. This is a tremendous treat for any fantasy lover and I am especially pleased by the author’s ability to draw the reader into her spell and keep us wanting more.
